Your favorite proverbs about travel and hospitality
I really like the Chinese proverb: ” A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”, russian:
“The smart fellow traveler – the half of road” and a Russian proverb about guests (with humor, of course),
which translates something like this: “The crust of bread is so small, but if Devil will bring guests -and that will disappear”.
What are your favorite Proverbs on this subject? (I think it can be useful for writing)
”Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing the lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.” (Jack Kerouac

“Most of us are not living, we are anticipating life…It is the land we have not visited that is to give us our greatest happiness. If we have not yet found it in America, it is awaiting us in Europe; if not in Europe, surely in Japan…Hence travel is attractive, if only as a means of acquiring that happiness which here seems to elusive. All of us hope to some day visit Europe and the Orient, and for that reason everything pertaining to their beauty, art, and history seems alluring. But when these have been seen, the wished-for goal of the untraveled world again recedes, and the desire is just as strong to visit other and more distant lands”-John Stoddard
