IMPORTANT: Matador Network's NEW Contributor Guide

Hello contributors!

I’d like to introduce myself as the new Managing Editor of Matador Network, though I’ve been here a full year! In that year, the Matador Editorial Team has undergone a full overhaul of our editorial strategy. We’ve changed our production process, our editorial needs and standards, and our guidelines for pitching and submitting content. Those changes have finally culminated in a brand new Contributor Guide. In it, you’ll find everything you need to know about working with Matador: what we publish, how to pitch, how to submit, how to go on a press trip with us, etc. It’s a long guide, but it is also a one-stop shop for all freelance inquiries. We are excited to work with contributors who have clearly read the whole guide and followed the production process outlined. We’re choosing to send it out in Google Doc form so that if any changes need to be made, we do not have to keep bothering you with a new PDF.

We will also be emailing out a link to the guide to contributors who have worked with us within the last year.

Thank you and excited to work with you!

Thank you – I just read through the excellent Guidelines. I am very interested in compiling a City Guide but do not see to whom I should address that query.

Hi Elsa, you can email with your city guide pitches. If they match the cities we currently look for, we’ll invite you to apply!
