Seeking Creative Travelers
My name is Rachel, and I am the creator of hippospit.com, a site that focuses on the strange and comical aspects of travel. I am currently seeking contributors to submit stories, comics, or photos that pertain to the following three categories:
– Detectable Differences: a category devoted to cultural differences that are evident while living in foreign places.
– The Influence of Technology: stories about the (often humorous) impact of technology on travel.
– No Place Like Home: a category containing experiences about adapting to temporary homes (such as interactions with weird AirBnB hosts).
If you are a perceptive traveler with a talent for conveying absurd experiences, I want to hear from you!
To be considered for publication on hippospit, please email me a jpeg, google doc, or pdf of your completed piece. The more artistic, unique, and insightful, the better. I don’t care where you’ve been – you can submit a piece about a night you spent in a Motel 6 while driving across Iowa to visit your aunt – so long as it’s unique and well-executed.
Also, you must have a PayPal account to be compensated for your work. Hippospit pays between $15-35 per accepted submission, depending on the complexity of the work.
